Metadata for Images

20190907 gif images do not have EXIF data which is part of the specification for jpg images. gif images do have metadata though supporting comment tags and embedded XMP metadata/tags. Here we add a Date to a gif image:

$ exiftool photo.gif

Notice the addition of a Date field in the photo's metadata.
