The Internet and the World Wide Web are often thought of as the same thing. However, the World Wide Web (WWW) is in fact the collection of web sites that we have created as a whole world community that sits on top of the Internet. The WWW uses the hyper text transfer protocol (HTTP) and the hyper text markup language (HTML) that was developed by Tim Berners-Lee of CERN. The Internet is the overall collection of protocols and infrastructure that connects us all digitally.

This chapter covers all things to do with interacting with the Internet and the World Wide Web. For information and guides to setting up your own web sites see Chapter 95.
