Kadesh is a Dell Latitude 7440 Desktop. See Section 40.2 for details.
To dual boot with Ubuntu installed on the Windows boot disk requires Windows Bitlocker Drive Encryption to be turned off (https://help.ubuntu.com/bitlocker) and in Windows to shrink the C: drive to 150GB leaving a 800GB partition for Ubuntu. As a laptop it is not possible to protect the data on the disk when installing side-by-side with Windows. Instead install Ubuntu on the whole disk, using LVM full disk encryption. Use VirtualBox or a cloud server for Windows if needed.
One new choice available with Ubuntu 23.10 was the trusted platform module (TPM) that can be used for added secure protection through managing an encryption key for the disk. However, it is currently experimental.
The storage setup is /dev/nvme0n1p3 (1TB) as root (/) with /dev/nvme0n1p1 as fat32 for /boot/efi and /dev/nvme0n1p2 as ext4 for /boot.
Zoom install using snap is required for Ubuntu 23.10:
